Synergi to create tech jobs in North East after posting huge growth

Tech firm Synergi is creating a raft of jobs after boosting its turnover by 60%.

The Gateshead company, which is celebrating its sixth anniversary, has increased its turnover to £3m, having grown by 40% year on year over the last five years.

Synergi specialises in helping businesses digitise their working practices and moves their clients away from traditional systems to cloud-based technology.

The company was founded in 2013 by Peter Joynson and Justin Short and now boasts a team of 32 members of staff.

Mr Joynson said: “We’ve had a very strong year and exceeded our targets by a significant margin.

“Having predicted we would hit just over £2.5m, to actually hit £3m is very gratifying and a testament to the hard work of everyone in the business.

“Our results are an indicator of the number of organisations looking to migrate from traditional legacy systems that no longer serve their purpose or fit with future plans, and who are keen to embrace the latest cloud technology tools that will shape the future of their organisations.”

Recently the business has completed contracts for digital marketing agency Mediaworks, manufacturer Cottam Brush and catering supplier Crosbys. It has also won new clients such as Penta Consulting and musculoskeletal services provider Connect Health.

Mr Joynson added: “The depth and breadth of contract wins over the last year have cemented our plans to expand on our bases in the North East, London and Scotland, and launch in two new geographic territories.

“We are also adding to team numbers by creating yet more jobs as our 2020 recruitment programme gears up for launch. We are working with local universities to introduce more graduates to the team.

“In our operations team we are adding project managers and introducing new customer success coordinators, while also looking for a talented marketing and event coordinator to work alongside our Comms team.

“The future is exciting, with factors such as artificial intelligence and machine learning set to revolutionise the way we work and live. We are looking forward to playing our part in making sure businesses take every advantage on offer.”
