Our Graduate Success Stories
Shaun Hegarty
I joined Synergi’s graduate scheme after graduating from Northumbria University with a Masters in Computing and IT. Immediately, I felt like part of the Synergi team from day one, as it was such a welcoming environment. On the very first day, I attended a show and tell meeting with a client and within the first two weeks, I had assisted with scoping a client’s requirements. For me, this was a very refreshing approach, because I very quickly discovered what the job would entail.
I have been given the opportunity to develop my skills with peer-to-peer training as well as being supported to achieve Microsoft qualifications. This is inline with the needs of Synergi, but also the technical areas that interest me.
The graduate scheme is a great career springboard. Even though I graduated from university with a Masters degree, like many others I think I would have struggled to walk into the type of IT role I was looking for. I count myself lucky to have been invited on to the Synergi scheme. If I could have painted the perfect job for me, this would have been the one.

I started at Synergi in 2019 after graduating from Newcastle University with a 2:1 in Accounting and Finance and can safely say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Making that transition from student life into working life can be so difficult but with Synergi this was not the case. I was made to feel welcome and part of the family instantly.
The scheme set me up with the skills and knowledge required to progress in my consultancy role in the Dynamics 365 Team. I am now a valuable asset in the team and run my own projects regularly thanks to the support and opportunities made available to me as soon as I stepped through those office doors. I would highly recommend any graduates from an I.T and/or business background to apply.

I Joined Synergi as a graduate consultant after completing my Information Technology degree at Teesside University. I have had a more unique experience compared to other graduates as all of my time at Synergi has been during the Covid pandemic. Saying that, the support I’ve received from all of the team has been excellent, and my progress as a graduate hasn’t slowed down one bit because of it.
I have picked up technologies like Nintex and SharePoint that I never even knew about before joining Synergi within weeks. The learning path I was put on through the graduate scheme was always natural and never felt like I was thrown in the deep end. The biggest compliment I can give to the scheme is how well managed it is in terms of expectations and time.
Any young graduate looking to get into industry would do really well to join our graduate scheme, as it will set you up within a team of very knowledgeable and extremely helpful individuals who will help you gain hands in experience with project work and customer interactions as well as honing your own skills with different technologies.

I began my career at Synergi after graduating from Newcastle University with a First Class Honours in Accounting & Finance. I was eager to start my career with a company where I could make a difference with my work and see results. Being able to take part in projects and seeing them through allows you to realise the benefit you bring to the team and points you in areas to develop yourself.
Despite not being able to meet the some of the team in person, I was immediately made to feel at home. I quickly learned that everyone is here to help. Once I had spent my first week settling in by sitting in on client demo calls and project meetings I began to gain responsibility within the team, gradually taking over customer support issues which allowed me to meet many existing clients while developing face-to-face communication skills and then on to lead small projects on my own. I’m looking forward to being lead consultant during the next project with the Dynamics team. I’ve been able to progress at a rate which feels comfortable to me. That’s the great thing about working at Synergi, you can push yourself as quickly and as far you want while knowing if ever there was an issue which you aren’t ready to handle there is plenty of support around help.
Although on the face of things it may seem like working may be very IT based, you quickly learn that there is far more to the job than sitting on a computer. If you’re looking to develop your skills in project management, team work and being able to construct strong relationships with clients then the Synergi graduate scheme is for you.
